Winter Trails Report: March 20th, 2025

Days are getting longer and warmer, and spring is coming to Voyageurs. As winter fades, Voyageurs crews are no longer checking or monitoring ice. There are still significant amounts of ice in many places, but some areas should be considered dangerous and avoided. If you are not checking ice, we recommend that you do not travel on the frozen lake surfaces.

Snowmobile trails throughout the park are no longer marked or maintained. Please use caution if you are still riding in the park and be aware that ice is no longer being monitored. There has been significant thawing in areas such as beaver ponds, creeks and shorelines.
If you decide to travel on the ice, remain cautious, and check ice as you go. Although we have stopped monitoring the ice, the public can still use our roads and trails at their own risk.

This will be the final winter trails report of the season. Bookmark this webpage to find weekly winter trail reports and find out which trails across the lakes are closed or open. Scroll to the end of the page for links to other regional trail reports.
