Our Minnesota community is grieving as justice is sought in the killing of George Floyd.

Voyageurs National Park Association is headquartered in Minneapolis. Here, our team is taking time to listen, learn, and support our BIPOC friends and neighbors. As we see the trauma of systemic racism further ripple across the world through protests, we have to take time to demand meaningful change. We must do better. VNPA is committed to doing the hard work to create a more equitable community, especially in our public lands and environmental circles. We have to address all aspects of racism within our organization, and work to make Voyageurs National Park safe, inclusive, and accessible to all.

This work begins by listening and learning from groundbreaking organizations that are leading the movement to diversify the outdoors. The outdoors is for everyone. It's a gift for all to enjoy. It is essential to amplify and celebrate the voices of BIPOC communities that are contributing greatly to the outdoors. Here are some organizations to follow and learn from:
