Mukooda Lake has many stories to tell. Stories of natural wonder, intrigue, and escape in this remote part of Voyageurs National Park. Escape to Mukooda Trailhead and take a hike with Park Ranger Dan Dendler. Learn about Voyageurs NP’s geologic wonders, and wander around old ruins of the Filben Cabin site together to hear stories of its criminal past.
All ages are welcome to participate. Arrive via your own boat; trail is accessible by boat only. Visitors can expect a 2-hour hike, potentially going 3 miles round trip. Wear sturdy footwear, bring bug spray, snacks, extra water, long sleeves, and sunscreen.

WHERE: Mukooda Lake Trailhead (accessible by boat only, via Crane Lake and Sand Point Lake)
BE PREPARED:
Expect a moderately difficult hike. This is a narrow, uneven, winding trail with exposed rocks and roots, steep inclines, and declines, and long drop-offs.
There is a comfort station and picnic area available near the trail head.
Leave your pets at home or another safe place as this is a human only guided hike.
